HAND IN HAND FOR CHILDREN OF CHERNOBYL
It is so hard to believe it has been 18 years since paperwork was started to begin our Hand in Hand for Children of Chernobyl program. Where have those years gone? We have hosted over 100 children for medical recuperations in the Delaware, Montgomery and Lancaster County areas. We have helped to support a village school, clinic, social home, club, 22-bed short-term hospital and the local town hospital. The difference we have made in the children’s lives and their villages is overwhelming. Just think how appreciated a potential $1.00 box of band aids can be to their
facilities! To also know most of our hosted children are completing college and working in various fields is so rewarding. They have seen how important education is in the United States and they strive for a better life for themselves. Awesome!
Once again we would like to thank First Presbyterian Church of Springfield for everything you have done for our program. We get no government support and rely on fundraisers and donations to allow us to do the wonderful things we have been doing. So, thank you, thank you, thank you.
