COUNSELING

The Pastor expects to meet with the prospective bride and groom at least three times before the rehearsal.

FEES

*Although no charge is made for the Pastor’s time and counseling, it is customary to give an honorarium according  to the wishes and ability of the bridge and groom.  All fees must be paid no later than rehearsal.

**If the couple has a strong desire to use an organist other than the Church’s, with Session’s approval they  may use someone else.  The guest organist shall have a consultation prior to the wedding with our organist and the couple  will pay a $50.00 consultation fee at the time of consultation.

CANDLES

There are two branched candelabra available.  Candles are supplied through the Church Office (14 candles) at a cost of $ 30.00 payable  to the Church.  Hurricane globes are available for the sanctuary windows.  Candles for these are supplied by the couple.  There are nine (9) windows in the Sanctuary and the hurricane globes available for use (if desired) are sixteen (16) inches tall.  A flat, crystal candleholder is  used.  If the Candle lighting ceremony is used, the  Unity Candles are supplied by the couple also. The church has candleholders which may be used, or the couple may wish to supply their own.

FLOWERS

Flowers may, if desired, be left for Sunday worship and afterwards for shut-ins.  If you plan to leave the flowers, please inform the church office so  that a notice can be placed in the Sunday bulletin and to arrange for delivery to shut-in members.

CHURCH DIMENSIONS

There are 26 rows of pews (52 pews). From the back wall of the Sanctuary to the chancel steps , 74’ 8”.  There are 3 steps, the 4^th being  on the chancel level.

LICENSE

The wedding license, must be secured by the bride and groom.  The license should then be left at the Church Office several days before the  wedding.

MUSIC

The church organist plays at all weddings unless otherwise agreed upon by the organist and minister.  The bridge and groom consult with the organist  early in their wedding plans.

REHEARSAL

Usually the evening before the wedding, as agreed upon by the couple and the minister.  Promptness  at the rehearsal is essential.  The rehearsal must be no more than 2 hours and conclude no later than 9:00 p.m.

Please note: No pictures at the front of the Sanctuary may be taken during the worship service  in which the marriage takes place. Pictures can be taken at re-enactment afterwards.

The church does not have an aisle runner.

Only bird seed may be used to shower the bride and groom.
