Our Leadership Family
Reverend Kate Morgan
Pastor Kate served as the Transitional-Interim Pastor at Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in Wilmington DE prior to accepting the call to First Presbyterian, Springfield. Pastor Kate has served churches in NJ as well as doing a chaplaincy at Ancora State Psychiatric Hospital also located in NJ. A cradle Presbyterian, Kate grew up in Pitman, NJ where her home church equipped her for a life of faith and a call to ministry.
Before exploring ordained ministry Kate served in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Scotland for the majority of her service time. After leaving the service, she returned to Scotland and received a Masters in History from the University of Aberdeen then returned to the states to teach. Active in her home church, Kate’s pastors encouraged her to explore her call and she received a Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary.
Her ministry has involved diverse settings and people; from urban to college town, hospital and suburban, starting children’s ministries, college student ministry, and writing grants for new ministries to serve underserved communities. A life-long learner, Kate has continued her education in areas of preaching, leadership, transition, design thinking and training in Trauma Awareness.
Kate’s husband, David Wible is an arborist and she has two step-children the children of her heart, Brianna and David. Kate loves to garden, bike, read, listen to music and drink lots of coffee. She really, really loves coffee.
Kate’s motto is; there is always something new to learn and there is always room at the table, in our church, and in our home, for family and friends old and new.
